We are entering a new phase of life and using this forum as a place to record and share our experiences, store some resources as we gather them, and use it as a place of reflection. We will continue to focus on our three core values – family, health and community. Our goal in sharing our experiences in an open platform such as this is to help others who are contemplating similar journeys.
We are in the grandparent years – and raising our children, supporting their dreams and welcoming grandchildren continues to be an anchor for our lives and decision-making. As we discussed options for retirement life we catalogued what we did and did not want to define this phase – and arrived at a decision to see the USA from an RUV.
As Linda phased into semi-retirement, she had time to re-discover a passion for crochet and knitting and used that passion to aid our long time commitment to fundraising for Make A Wish Foundation. As Doug contemplates his retirement coming up in the next few years, he wants to develop his photography skills.
Healthy Life Style: In addition, like many others we are working on healthy life style goals in all that that means – from healthy eating and fitness to enjoying our natural environment and contributing to our community. We are hoping to use our RUV travel as a means to kickstart our healthy life style goals.
RUV Guidance: We envision using this forum to share our experiences as new RUV owners (we purchased a previously owned 2018 Thor Vegas 24.1), and we are planning to begin with visit to Michigan Parks and recreational sites.
Michigan: We hope to use some of these trips as ways for Doug to expand upon his passion for photography – sharing the best shots here of course – and highlighting in this first period – Michigan!
Crochet and Knit: Linda’s crochet and knit items are primarily produced as fundraisers for the Make A Wish program. We’ll share pictures of her products and experiences here.
